Hik,

I have seen this happen a couple of times, as well. When it has, all I did, was to press the reset combination and the files returned. I didn't even take out the compact flash card. It is possible that it is static electricity that causes this. During last winter, one of my student's Pac Mate's hard reset a few times and I had one do it when I boarded a plane for CSUN. A couple of the guys from FS said that they thought that it was static electricity that was the cause.

I've had this happen a time or two, but only since the weather has become cooler. I've wondered if excessive static electricity can be a factor. It does have some effect on certain electronic components, and winter seems to be the season for it.

Hi, group.

I took my Bookport with me for twelve days over Christmas. Twice I forgot to lock it, but it was in a secure spot. When I came back to it, it said "No files." I took the flash memory out and replaced it, and had my files back.

Is this standard? What should I have done? Would reset have worked?

TThanks.
