Hi Sarah!
Do you know of a good place to purchase 4 gig cards? Can you use a 4 gig SD
card with a reader or converter which conforms it to the shape of a CF card?

I use a reader when I put the CF card in to the laptop.

Smile.
Hope

.Speaking of reformatting, I have a 4GB card, most of which is full. Ever
since I started using it, I have noticed a major amount of sluggishness when
moving between files and/or folders, and sometimes moving within a file. Well,
I bit the bullet, copied all that stuff to my hard drive, reformatted the card
in the BP, then copied it all back. My BP is now behaving much better, only
taking about a second to move from file to file or from folder to folder. I
had to find something to do while this was all going on--it took over three
hours from start to finish--so I started tackling my pile of literally several
thousand Emails, which I haven't gone through in way too long. I know of at
least two people on this list who have been waiting patiently for me to get
back to them. All I can say is, hang in there, it will be soon. My life
exploded recently, and when that happens, I tend to submerge myself in BookPort
land and ignore the real world. <Smiles.> Anyway, thanks for r
 e
. ading, and this was all to inform the list that 4GB cards really do work much
better with the latest firmware.
.Thanks APH!

.Also, just to clarify, you will need to reformat again, after updating
.to 2.3, because of the significant changes.

.Let us know if we can help you further.

.Hi. I did reformat the card before attempting to transfer the files. I
.am
.also running the latest firmware, and I don't believe the battery
.contacts
.are bent, since the book port works fine except when I attempt to
.transfer
.files.
.I'll try putting the files in a folder to see if that makes any
.difference.
