Anne,

I have had very good success with Kingston and Sandisk 4gb cards--not so much 
with cheaper off-brand 
units.  My recommendation is to put as few files as possible in the root.  I 
have found 
that not doing this can slow down navigation even if the technical limit has 
not been reached.  
To make this easier, I create a "current files" directory off the root where I 
put 
all the stuff I'm listening to for quick access.  Hope this helps.
