Steve

I have been looking up both speaker suggestions from yourself and Caroline,
and find that the Creative Travelsound ones seem to have a number of
variations. There is one set as cheap as £19.99 at Amazon, but they also
have others that are more expensive. I think the cheap ones are battery
only, so I wonder whether the more expensive versions can also run off the
mains. Do you know about the various models and which would be best?

Wendy

Hi Caroline,

I have not heard of those speakers, I use the Creative Labs Travelsound
speakers for my BookCourier. They are excellent, and even loud enough to
use at exhibitions, even though they are very small.

All the best

Hello Wendy,

Several people who own Victor Reader Streams as well as BookCouriers are
recommending the JBL OnTour speakers which can be either battery- or
mains-operated, I believe. They cost around £35 from Amazon. I haven't
tried them myself, having a small pair of Sony speakers, but there seem to
be plenty of happy JBL OnTour owners, so I will seriously consider them when
mine need replacing.

HTH,

Caroline.

Hi Wendy.

The Book courier will work with any speakers that have a 3.5 MM connection
jack similar to the headphones supplied with the unit. However, you will
need a pair of amplified speakers as the book courier does not provide an
output of sufficient impedance to produce a loud volume on a pair of
unamplified speakers. If your going to use the BC for a stretch on a pair
of speakers, I suggest you get the sort that can be mains as well as battery
operated.

Hope this helps and if you've any more questions, please get back to me.

All the best, Ibrahim Gucukoglu
