Lynn,

I agree with you totally. The Courier was great and has been one of the
best purchases I have ever made. The Stream is fine in its way, but the
synthetic speech is just not as good as Precise Pete.

Today's news is disappointing, but they have not completely shut the door on
us, so let's hold on to this little ray of hope for a future Courier.

Hi David,

I agree that Springer should have let us know, but it seemed pointless
to regurgitate the negative comments that others are making . My
BookCourier was by far the most useful and fun piece of access tech I've
ever owned, and I was really looking forward to the next generation. I
think Springer have been thoughtless or have buried their heads in the
sand, but that takes nothing away from the fact that they created an
awesomely good product once.

Kind regards, Lynn

Lynn,

The Stream has had two software upgrades and version 2.0 is about to be
launched, so that at least is promising. I can understand why Springer
may need to cancel the forthcoming Courier, but I cannot understand why
they did not announce this to the Courier list. Were they hoping we
would just forget about it?

The BC was a great little product and well ahead of its time. I'm sad
that it won't be replaced. Let's just hope the makers of the Stream give
us the level of service that Springer did, and that they can find time
to write a TNAUK filter.

Also this is pretty crappy customer relations. It would have been nice
for
this company to be a bit more forward then keep everyone on hold. I
will
be passing this info around to friends. Bye bye springer design.

Dear Bud,

Regretfully, production of the new BookCourier has been put on hold.
This decision was not made lightly. It came down to the simply fact that
with the current work load at Springer Design (we are first a design and
consulting firm), we would not be able to provide our customers the
immediate after sale technical support and the on-going development they
deserve.
We will be revisiting our production plan monthly and will update you as
soon as the situation changes.

Steve
