Hi Melissa and others,
If my recollections are accurate, I seem to remember this book being read to
my Year 4 or 5 class back in the early 1970s. I know I loved it, although at
the time I found it pretty edge of the seat kind of stuff in places. (No
doubt relatively tame by today's standards!)
Oh yes indeed, back at a time when arguably the most dreaded sanction for
general classroom misbehaviour in my eyes was the threat to withdraw our
beloved class book reading time, where our teacher would read aloud to us
last thing on a Friday afternoon.
Now, that sets in train another interesting thought ... favourite books from
childhood or young adulthood years, or books which left some kind of lasting
effect on you ...?

I res book as an adult. For a children's lit class. I liked it a lot.
It was during the harry potter popularity. I remember a class where we
analyzed both of these books. In the end, wrinkle in time won out for me.
