Judy,
If I lived in Central Oregon and the service area for KTVZ, I would be on the
phone with the news department asking why they give a platform to these morons.
The occupiers and their supporters have from the
beginning created an alternate reality and narrative that is utterly
devoid of factual underpinning. They already have their own faux media
to broadcast this nonsense, so why is Central Oregon's mainstream and
presumably
credible network affiliate lending them a hand by legitimizing claims
that are completely bogus? There is a lack of basic integrity to this
sort of journalism, as there seems to have been no apparent cross-checking of
the
claims. All this story does is parrot the claims of B. J. Soper, who may be
indicted
soon and the axe-to-grind ex fire chief of Harney County, who resigned during
the occupation (and probably regrets that decision now) because he found
himself on the wrong side of the philosophical fence with fellow county
officials Sheriff Dave Ward and Judge Steve Grasty.
Collectively, we are dealing with a group of mostly poorly-educated white men
and some women who are losers at the game of life and looking for someone to
blame (you, me, the government, Audubon, Obama, pick your scapegoat). Their
continuing and pathetic attempts to launch fecal matter at the wall in hopes of
something sticking is ludicrous and merits ZERO media coverage. Someone needs
to hand them a mirror so they can look at the real source of their problems.

I thought maybe it was an early April Fools thing but this seems
genuine. The refuge staff must just feel gutted by all this ongoing
stuff. Seens that concentrating on the important work would be more
difficult with claims like this, ongoing threats to law enforcement etc.
Think the FBI were the ones who took Linda Beck's stuffed animal with
sentimental attachments for her, or that they took Tim Blount's optics
and camera?
Note that near the bottom of the article, "radical environmentalists"
(yes, Audubon members) are mentioned.
