Here's a more recent (& considerably less strident) article on ravens
and sage-grouse and the Idaho Fish &Game proposal, by Ben Goldfarb from

One factor covered in this article, not mentioned in the 2014 "Wildlife
News" article, is the role of power lines as artificial nesting sites
for ravens in sagebrush habitat. This could grow in importance with the
ongoing push for wind-turbines in sage-grouse country.
Making these structures less raven-friendly could likely be a more
practical approach to reducing raven predation on sage-grouse nests,
than what Idaho Fish & Game was proposing.
From Goldfarb's article, you can also see that the IF&G's raven hunters
didn't have much success, concluding that ravens are "very wary, very
intelligent birds." Well, we could have told them that.
