Thanks Joel for sharing these options for action regarding the current
situation at Malheur NWR.
Here's a link from Audubon Society of Portland for some opportunities for
action/support folks can take regarding Malheur in addition to the Restore
Malheur FaceBook page which Joel pointed out:
http://audubonportland.org/news/opportunities-to-get-involved-with-malheur-national-wildlife-refuge-with-the-audubon-society-of-portland
We will be sure to keep folks aware of other opportunities as they come up
as the situation evolves.
Cheers,

Hi all,
Sorry not to have an update on other plans yet, but meanwhile here's a
petition on the official whitehouse.gov website that seems to be gaining
traction:

Please share this with your friends.
Portland Audubon is using their "Restore Malheur" Facebook page as a
forum for comments and action alerts:

Note the suggestion to contact your representatives.
This blog gives perspectives from a local resident:
https://homesweetjeromedrapaport.wordpress.com/
with good insights on voices that are being ignored by the media. Good
to think about ways to help those voices be heard. If you know a
reporter or have any contact, ask them why they're not talking to those
people.
Finally just in case anyone missed it, this comment from an Oregon
birder who's lived much/most of his life in Harney Co. seems to have
snuck through the "no politics" filter on OBOL:
//www.freelists.org/post/obol/Harney-County-Migratory-Bird-Festival
It makes some very good points about the harmful economic effects of the
occupation and the militants' demands.
