I just got the following message from the Breeding Bird Survey. Does
anyone know what this is about?
What do they mean by "time-sensitive management deliberation?"
Reading between the lines, I'm wondering if the Trump Administration /
Ryan Zinke might have something nefarious in mind, such as eliminating
this highly effective, volunteer-supported program.
If you've heard any news through the grapevine, I'd be interested to
know.
Dear BBS Observer:
While timely data submission has always been the norm for the Survey,
this season it is especially important to submit your data by July 10.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service needs a portion of the 2018 BBS data
set earlier than usual this year to help inform a time-sensitive
management deliberation.
To help ensure that the FWS gets the data it needs, we ask that you
please submit your BBS data online no later than July 10 and then
immediately mail us your completed data collection materials and route
map(s) using the reply envelope provided.
