And I'm pretty sure the posted links are the least obtrusive option. A full
direct post might be messy for someone on dialup or digest. "The government

Thanks!FYI:"Monetized" blogs have ads, which is a choice of the blogger. The
blog in question uses WordPress:
https://wordpress.com/support/monetize-your-site/#advertising.https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-sell-ads-on-your-wordpress-blog-step-by-step/Not
sure which type of ad platform he is using, but a simple one is:"CPM (cost per
mille) or cost-per-thousand-impression are ads that are sold based on how many
times they are displayed. This means you get paid for displaying ads on your
website whether users click on them or not."Just went to the blog, currently
there are ads for life insurance, men's shirts, and bankruptcy lawyers. So, with
the CPM scheme, (if he is using this monetization platform) he is making money
by getting people to simply click on the links in the BOO list that go to his
blog. He could post the content in BOO, but has chosen again and again to try
to get people to go to his $$$ blog. Not ok use of BOO in my opinion. From:

I’m not an admin either, and I agree it’s a simple matter to either delete or
ignore any posts that you don’t want to read. I do that all the time either
because I’m not interested or I don’t have time. I’m uneasy with discussing
this online in this way. The previous time it was brought up there was a sense
of people piling on and I don’t like to see that on OBOL. Live and let live. If
posts don’t violate OBOL’s rules, ignore. I propose that if anyone has an issue
with a poster to contact the administrator of the list first to find out if the
posts violate standards, (with the exception of bullying or incivility which I
would want to address immediately). Then she can decide what to do, if
anything. Meanwhile, keep cool—pun intended!!!MaryOn Jun 25, 2021, at 3:51 PM,

what happened to your original post. I don't think HF "dominates" this list; he
just happens to be the only one who posts regularly. I too would prefer that he
post his messages directly, but it is easy to refrain from clicking. That's
what I usually do. I don't know how his blog is MONETIZED. It is free to
read...and free to scroll past or delete. I agree, though, that it is annoying
that he expects people to click through in order to read what he has to say. No
one else does that. Andrew ThomasOn 06/24/2021 8:58 PM Margaret Stephens

spam, again Didn't we have this conversation already? So much posting from a
single person, who does never actually posts anything, but puts links into the
message that go to his MONETIZED blog. Bait and switch. For example: June
2021: 9 posts, 6 from this person.May 2021: 9 posts, 5 from this personApril
2021: 7 posts, 5 from this person. Admins? I want to get a digest of the
posts, many of which are of great interest, but am really sick of this person
continually dominating the list with spam.
