On Nov. 16 Urge President Obama to #VetoExtinction

[Sage grouse]
The Endangered Species Act is under attack again in Congress, with several
dangerous policy riders attached to year-end spending bills. Because there is
significant pressure to pass this legislation and avoid a government shutdown,
we need you to call the White House and make our negotiating terms abundantly
clear. President Obama must prepare a veto threat for any spending bill that
removes protections from wolves, sage grouse or other imperiled wildlife.
Join our coalition efforts by calling the White House at (202) 456-1111 on
Wednesday, Nov. 16. Urge the president to #VetoExtinction.
Here's a sample call script. You can leave your message with the receptionist
or at the office's voicemail after hours. Just remember to be quick and polite
-- then let us know you called.
Hi, my name is _____, and I live in _____. I'm calling to urge President Obama
to once again reject all policy riders in year-end spending bills that
undermine the Endangered Species Act and harm wolves, sage grouse or other
imperiled wildlife. The Act is immensely successful and has saved 99 percent of
the species under its care from extinction. The president must veto these
underhanded attempts to legislatively delist species and make sure these riders
don't
pass.<http://action.biologicaldiversity.org/p/salsa/web/common/public/content?content_item_KEY=12976>
