I've also thought of posting just the link to the eBird daily alert. I
don't think people have to be eBird subscribers to get into the link;
anyone want to try it (who is not subscribed to eBird)?

When reading down the list, if I get to a particularly-long post that I
don't want to scroll past, it works well to click the back-arrow, and then
select the next item in the list to continue my scrolling. The Freelists
site doesn't appear to offer the digest style.
