Hi everyone, if I could add a comment on the Finicum/FBI question: I myself
want the Bundy gang and associates to do the time for their illegal actions
that they so richly deserve. Consequently, I want everything involved to be
clean and above-board. I don’t want a situation where justice wasn’t served
because there was a questionable chain of custody issue, or or LE finagled
evidence, or “forgot” to mention that they shot at Finicum as he was getting
out of the truck. Defense will try to drive any wedge into the evidence that
they can. It needs to be clean and tight. That’s why I want to know what
happened with the FBI and the undisclosed shots. Even though the two
unexplained shots has nothing to do with the overall case against the
militants, it could cast a shadow in the public’s thus future jurors’ eyes if
there was something fishy about it.
We will know more after a while. I’m trying to be patient!

to the point where at least one person had become put off by how their
comment had been referenced by another poster. Sometimes in discussions like
this, the absence of new information to mull over and opine about gives way
to individuals within the discussion taking a microscope to each other's
opinions. Differences of opinion are typically doomed to remain as such. My
post was an expression of an opinion with the intent to suggest that maybe we
were approaching a point of diminishing returns. I didn't expect you or
others to necessarily agree and it's pretty clear that you don't.
At this point, I intend to step away from further discussion of the Finicum
shooting until more information is revealed, if for no other reason than it
feels like I'm talking out of my backside to keeping rehashing the few
details that seem known. I can't know what Finicum or the FBI agents were
thinking, other than to presume that everyone involved was under extreme
stress. Split-second choices were made by a number of people who, aside from
Finicum, will likely spend the rest of their lives replaying these events
over and over in their minds wondering what they might have done to produce a
different outcome. I personally don't want to get stuck down that well
shaft...repeatedly watching the video and re-reading the report from the
investigation in an effort to understand a sequence of events that I did not
witness. We would all like to know exactly what happened and why, but we'll
probably never get a fully satisfactory answer. Perhaps frustration with that
reality plays out as frustration with those who interpret accounts and video
of these events differently. But what do I really know? I'm just thinking out
loud here.
