After 40 years of being indoctrinated with a particular narrative, there is no
reason for us to expect a revelation from Ammon Bundy. We have all grown up
with our narrative being reinforced by most everyone around us and so has Ammon
Bundy. We look at him and scratch our heads, wondering how anyone can hold his
world view. Guess what...he looks at us and asks himself the very same
question. Having been raised by Cliven Bundy, Ammon and his siblings never
stood a chance of seeing the world the way most of us see it.
We look at all the people supporting Trump, or those who sided with Hitler and
can't wrap our minds around it. And yet, whatever Trump is selling strikes a
chord. Trump didn't invent the narrative any more than Hitler invented his.
They just figured out to harmonize with an existing narrative by reinforcing
and playing on pre-existing fears.
