Anybody know anything about this Bobsy that I stumbled upon off the

1973 Daytona 24 hour race, driven by Raymond Gage, Jim Grob, and Gary
Ouellette.
Dave,
What a great find. I did a search of ALL my Bobsy registry data, files,
etc. for any of those three names and turned up nothing. So, is a
mystery car for now. If some further I.D. can be determined, I'll sure
add it somewhere on the site. Too cool.
I did Google searches for the three guys indivdually and also
each+"Bobsy" and got these two hits from the April 25th '73 Runoffs at VIR:
47
Jim Grob
Florida
Chevron
2:12.0
-
FB 1
4
Gary Ouellette
Florida
Spitfire
Because of Al Beasley running the Bobsy-Saab, this race showed up and
their names appeared as other entries at that race. So, obviously Grob
& Ouellette were contemporaries, but weren't racing the mystery car at
VIR *April 25h *of '73.
Found Gage racing a Sprite in 1970 in Atlanta
American Road Race of Champions (Race 4 - H Production), Road Atlanta
Date: 29.11.1970
2 Raymond Gage (USA) Austin-Healey Sprite
12
But nothing for any of them associated with "bobsy" in the searches.
As you noted, Dave, this entry (and your car picture) was the entry #41
at he *April 2, 1973* 24 hours of Daytona race, but clearly not a Lotus 23.
#41 Gage / Grob / Ouellette Lotus 23 BMW Parametrics Systems
14
DNF S2.0
Guess their grand adventure & DNF in early April caused them to go back
to their Sptitfire, Sprite rides later than month, huh?
*
**But this is weird.* Here's a challenge for your Bobsy aficionados.
Maybe Don Anderson can help. *Looking at my Registry info for the SR-4
(Prototype) -5 & -6, cars on the registry,**none of them indicate or
imply being made before 1974. So, exactly**what years were they
actually made???* (I just realized I don't show production years for the
various models. My bad. Might have to rectify) .
So....... what is this thing in early 1973? Hmmm. More mystery.
Bob.
