How big are the tiles?

Ask since, just checked out wikipedia page on the game, and, it seems like just numbers, combined with colour values, and, for example, the twenty-sided dice have here that a friend 3d printed for me includes the braille number symbol before each set of characters, which means I then know which way is the right way up.

In other words, if a rummy-cup tile has to have a number from 1 to 13 on it, along with a colour symbol/character, then, I suppose, as long as something there tells you which way is the right way up, as long as it can fit something like 4 braille characters on it, you could start off with number symbol, followed by the two characters for a number ranging from 1 to 13 - as in 01 = JA, followed by a single letter relating to the colour, or something?

This is since the number symbol - 3 4 5 6 is distinctive enough that you'd be able to tell which was the right way up, but, if the tiles are somewhat larger, then you could just have the braille characters on opposite edges, facing in different directions, or something?

And, these are just thoughts, based on the description on the wikipedia page.

Hope this helps

Thanks Jacob.
This material should work well for card games requiring a layout as-long as the
cards touches the material, card stacks may still be a problem and I am pritty
sure it will keep your drums in place. I remember placing a pack of smokes on
the non slip material and pushing it away from me and it did not move. I
understood that this material is machine washable too.

I was hoping some one with a professional brailled rummy-cup set can share the
standard lay out so there wont be any confusion if I ever play against another
blind player. Thanks anyway.

I will let you know how the material works out, may be with dominoes untill I
can get the rummy cup brailled, I need to get some one to identify the tiles
and some one to play against and some one to go to town for me, but I will let
you know.

Have a nice day.
Nita.

While haven't worked with those game tiles, so am not sure how the braille
label implementation would work best, I think it really comes down to what
suits you.

Besides that, I have also wanted to get hold of some form of thin rubber
sheeting to put down under my drum kit - on a smooth tiled floor, something
like, especially the bass tom-tom refuses to stay in place what with vibration,
etc., so, let us know how it goes.

I was also trying to figure out how to keep braille cornered playing cards in
place if playing something like solitaire, so this non-slip sheeting/surface
would probably also be perfect for that type of thing - let us know how it goes.

Stay well

Hallo Blindza.
Last night I remembered a friend showing me non slip material she used on her
side and coffee table. Whatever you place on the material stays where it is, it
does not slip or slide, you have to pick it up to move it. I am thinking, this
material might work well for playing tile type   games on like dominoes and
rummy-cup in the dark. This meterial is available  at places like Mica. I will
go and get some this weekend and see how it works, unless any of you have tried
this or something els that works better.
All I need is to Braille my rummy-cup tiles, can any one  please tell me how
rummy-cup tiles are brailled, numbers or colors first, what abbreviations  are
used for the colours and where  on the tile is the Braille label usually placed?
Thanks.
