I've isolated the problem to this weird anomaly.
When the pc starts -- be it from being turned off or on a reboot -- with
8.42 installed, I cannot get to the desktop, the start menu, or the run
dialog.
I have to go to the system tray and hit enter on Replay AV.
Once this is done and I relaunch Window-Eyes, all is well for all system
features.
At this point, I am not yet sure if I want to live with this; but, for the
moment, I can now at least work around it.
Incidentally, I did take a look at 8.31 on another pc and it does have the
same podcast configuring settings as does 8.42 -- I just never noticed.
At this point, I am having both Juice and RAV download podcasts checking
every 30 minutes.
