KVBC Nevada, USA Monday, October 22, 2007 Visually impaired bowling bond By Denise Rosch reporting A local bowling league is proving there's nothing you can't do with a little effort. All of their team members are visually impaired. The bowlers are from the Blind Center of Nevada. For more than five years the league has been growing. Today there are several dozen members who rely on volunteers to help them play. And although they do keep score, many say the comradery is the best part of the game. "Everybody has their own strategy," bowler Al Treise explains. "Some use an approach, some just stand up at the line. Basically point us in the right direction and get out of the way." The Silver Nugget donates everything to the league including shoes, lanes, and balls.
