Cox has the pop and smtp ports to be 110 and 25. As for alternate port 
settings, they don't use them.

    When I tried to set Thunderbird up (I thought to change to Thunderbird 
when Ihad to change from Eudora) they would not let me set up the imap 
account. They would not let me set up the ssl tls stuff and so on.

Check there setting on the web site. All the settings are the same
for Eudora as in OE. So it should give port if different.
