Distribution lists
Hi Jennifer,

Actually, I recommend that you set up what is called a distribution list. This is the process in which you place several email addresses into one nickname. You can create as many as you wish. For example, you can put all members of your book club under a nickname called book club. Then, when you type book club into the to field, all of the addresses associated with that group will be contacted. Below are instructions for creating a distribution list that I wrote for someone else. Hope these help. Email me if you have further questions at JDArmstrong@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Creating Distribution Lists In Eudora 5

What if you want to send an email to a number of individuals by using a
nickname that sends messages to everybody in a particular group. You can
accomplish this task by creating a distribution list in your Eudora address book.
To create a distribution list in Eudora 5, follow the instructions below.

        1. From within Eudora, press Control-l to open your Eudora address
book. If you are placed in the screen that contains the personal, home, work,
other and notes tabs, press F6 to get into the Eudora nicknames tree view.

2. From the Eudora nicknames tree view, press Alt-n. You will be placed in the
nickname edit box field.

3. Type the nickname you want to use for this particular group (e.g., Book Club). Once this distribution list has been created, everytime you type Book Club in a to, cc, or bcc field, Eudora will expand and place everyone's name from the group in
that field.

Hit f6 to get to the other pane.
4. Press the tab key to get to the full name field. You may or may not have one.
For example, the full name of your book club might be the Library for the Blind
Book Club, but you may just want to use Book Club as a shorter nickname.

5. Press the tab key four times to pass through the first name, swap and last name fields, and you will be placed in an edit box in which all of the email addresses for
your distribution list are to be entered.

6. You may enter the email addresses on individual lines, or you can separate
them by a comma and a space. Each method is explained in more detail as
follows.

A. Type the first address followed by a comma and a space. Then, type
the second address followed by a comma and a space, and so on, until you have
entered all of the desired email addresses for this distribution list.

B. Alternatively, type the first address, then enter. Type the second
address, then enter, and so on, until you have entered all of the desired email
addresses for this distribution list.

7. If you want to enter additional information on this particular group, you can
use the Control-tabkey to access the work, home, other and notes pages.

8. After you have finished entering information for your distribution list, press
alt-F4, or Control-w, to save your changes and exit the address book.

9. After you press Control-F4 or Control-w, you will receive the message, "Save changes to Address Book?" Press the enter key or the letter y to save the changes and exit the Address Book. Press the letter n, or tab to no and press enter, to
cancel your changes and exit the Address Book.

10. As mentioned previously, after you save the nickname for your distribution
list, whenever you send an email to the nickname you created, such as Book Club,
you are sending the email to everybody who is associated with this nickname.

Distribution list add on
One thing I would add to these instructions. While creating the list, check the checkbox that says, put it on the recipients list. Then, you don't have to ype the name if you don't want to. Instead, you can hit alt-m for the message menu, m for new message to, menu, and then hit the letter b until you get to, for example, bookclub. Hit enter and you will be on the subject line of a new message. You can also forward a message using this procedure, except
tht you hit o in the message menu, for forward to.

Can someone tell me how to write out a distribution list in eudora?
If possible I'd like the addresses in the list not to be seen by others.
Thanks.
