howdy donna, carbonite at carbonite.com is a entire system backup that is done on line and you never have to fool with it after installation and initial setup wich is easy. for example, if you lost your entire system, and had to get a new one, you could resotre all of your data to the exact folder structure you had before, just reinstall your original software, and then restore your data from carbonite.com, and wlal, a seamless restoration of your system, even if your go to a higher version of windows.
