Kenny, yep, you put it in the eudora.ini file. Here is mine. I put it just below the word settings near the top. I'm not sure it matters where you put it.

TabooHeaders=a,b,co,d,e,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,se,su,st,th,to,u,v,x

Can you explain how to use this "tabooheaders" line you speak about? Do you manually place it in the eudora.ini file towards the top? Is this some sort of ini tweak or something? What other tweaks can you share that would make Eudora Pro run more smoothly with screenreaders?

Dave, are you using the tabooheaders line in your ini file to limit the headers that are shown?

Yes, NVDA does read messages, but for me, at least, it puts cursor at top of headers, and I have to move down to the message body. If there is a command, I don't know it. I administer approximately 300 lists, and have to go through a large volume of e-mail each day, so efficiency important. I have over 20 years of folders and filters built up in Eudora, and hate to give them up!

I have been struggling to retain Eudora's integrity with creator's version of windows 10 and JAWS. NVDA reads messages correctly on my computer, but JAWS is really whimsical about where it starts reading. I have tinkered with quick settings, but it makes no difference. Eudora and JAWS do/does crash occasionally, but usually not more than once or twice a day. When I tried to use Instacart, however, Eudora lost its perspective. I couldn't delete and reload it successfully. Had to copy the folder from another computer. I hate to think of giving it up after twenty years, but definitely having a challenge keeping it going. FS no longer supports Eudora, but NVDA does a nice job with it.
