Good afternoon everyone,
Over the past few days a number of new folks have joined this list
enlarging our family of blind cord cutters. Please feel free to introduce
yourselves, tell us what cable service you're using and how you currently
access it, where you are in your cord cutting journey and which cable
replacement services or stand-alone apps you're using or plan to use.
Some folks were asking about Sling TV on another list. I
don't know much about it myself where its usability by the blind is
concerned so would be interested to hear from Sling TV users concerning
these matters.
We ourselves use Fubo TV. Since my wife likes to watch University of
Wisconsin Games this is why we're using that service. Fubo is very strong in
sports coverage. Any avid sports fans on here are strongly urged to check it
out. We've used it with Apple TV and on our Sony TV with the Google
Assistant. We hope to add an Amazon Fire Stick before the holidays so I'll
be interested to see how well it works with Voice View. Once our Xbox is
repaired we'll give Fubo a test flight there too and will report our
findings to everyone. While there are accessibility work-arounds for the
platform on which you're running Fubo TV more consistent accessibility
across platforms is a must to improve its usability by the blind with
assistive technology.
