Subject: [blindcordcutters] Tivo Question
Hi All,
I am using cable TV services still, but my cable company told me that within
a year, they will no longer provide cable boxes for live TV, they will give
each customer an Amazon firestick, and they will need to provide their own
for additional TVs.
They will have the Sparklight app for devices for the customers and for
streaming their live TV.
We have two of their Tivo mini boxes and their main Tivo which drives the
minis and two regular simple cable boxes.
But as I mentioned, those will all be gone within a year and we will be true
cord cutters whether we want it or not.
So here's my question,
I'm wondering, because I have one main Tivo box and one Mini box that I
bought from eBay a couple years ago, but haven't used them because we have
been using the cable company's boxes.
I know Tivo has a subscription service, and I haven't looked into that yet,
but I'm wondering if anyone has used a Tivo without Tivo's subscription
service, or if it can be done, just subscribing to other services through
the Tivo.
