I am curious. Given the fact that I do not have an XBox of any model, is there
really any benefit of me getting, and installing the Microsoft movies and TV
app to any of my mobile devices?
Peter, I think you said you all had in XBox? Given the fact that I already have
Google play movies and TV on my android devices, plus the Apple TV app on my
iOS devices, and on my Mac, I didn't know if the content was any
different/better or worse on Microsoft, or if it would be beneficial from a
price standpoint, etc. beware I live in the states, so cost would be calculated
according to USD currency.
Does Microsoft offer any kind of an on demand streaming service for watching
things, such as what Netflix, Hulu, etc. is capable of?
I am more into the older type of TV show/movies. some newer releases are OK,
but to me, movies and TV are just not what they used to be. for example, some
of the stuff I like, which by the way, most of the stuff I already have in one
library or another is for TV shows, things like full House, not Fuller House,
but the original series from the 80s, Family matters, boy meets world, Roseann,
Alf The sitcom, not the animated cartoon crap. maybe Dora the explorer… Just
kidding!
As for movies, the list could be much longer, but things like flight of the
navigator, Old yeller, E.T, The first to home alone movies, after the second
one, it kind of went to the grave in my opinion as far as quality. let's see,
maybe La Bamba starring Los Lobos, sleepless in Seattle, then of course there's
the occasional thriller that I really like such as speed, the green mile, etc.
I'm not really much of a comedy person, although there were a few I liked such
as kindergarten cop, Forrest Gump, The first 2 Beethoven movies. Again, same as
home alone. After the first couple of movies, it kind of became terrible in my
opinion. Believe it or not, maybe I have a really warped sense of humor, but
yes. I did enjoy Beavis and Butthead do America back in the days. Whether I
would still like it, I don't know. And no, I do not like Tropic thunder. Lol. I
also like some reality TV shows such as the principals office, Live rescue,
Live PD, court cam, dr. Phil, judge Judy, accused: innocent or guilty, The
original series of forensic files, don't even get me started on the second
remake. It is god awful in my opinion! I survived a crime, and of course it's
sister shell, I survived a serial killer. back in the days, when it was being
aired, I loved rescue 911! I would give anything to find good high-quality
versions of those shows. I have a lot of them in MP3, and I know that they are
scattered amongst YouTube, but not all of them are very good quality. In fact,
some of them are so bad that they are barely even Audible. not to mention, as I
said, they are just kind of scatterbrained everywhere. So you don't really know
what episode/story went with which episode/season. speaking of 911, there was a
show that apparently aired on Fox back in the days which actually was called
911. To give you an idea of the show I'm talking about, some of the main
characters would have been Buck, Athena, chimney, Maddie, Eddie and his son
ironically also named Christopher… Etc. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that
show! I didn't think I would at first, but the more I listened to it, the more
I got hooked. I would highly highly recommend it!
Getting back to my initial question, now that you all know kind of the style
that I like, do you think that getting the Microsoft movies and TV apps would
really be worth it, or like most streaming services out there nowadays, is the
content going to be more newer stuff than this, that I may wind up not liking
quite as well.
