I suppose every region of the country has certain culinary advantages that
others do not have. In Oregon, where Emily grew up, the best fruits and
berries I have ever had in my life can be found in summer and fall. In the
s outhwest, we can have pretty much any fresh chili pepper we want,
especially during the winter months and into spring. On a scale of one to
ten, with ten being the hottest food there is, I'd consider myself about a 7
or so. Buffalo Wild Wings, one of our favorite places to eat out when we
can afford it, has a mango habanero flavor that is freaking awesome, but
right at my tolerance max. Charlene, I read through parts of the intro this
morning, and it sounds like when cooking times are given, the cooking times
I need to adhere to are the second set, not the first. I'll look at it more
closely later, if I can manage to get enough uninterupted time to really sit
and read. I'm planning to make ribs some time this week in the IP, and
possibly a pork chili, since I have some pork butt I need to use up. Still
haven't quite decided what to do with it yet though.

Welcome to the upper midwest, where most people cry when they find a
