The very best garlic spread recipe I have ever used for making garlic bread was
found in an issue of Bon Appetit magazine a couple years ago. Garlic cloves
are cooked in butter over low heat, covered, until soft. Once cool, Parmesan
cheese, salt and pepper, fresh parsley, and a touch of lemon zest are stirred
in, then spread over the cut side of a loaf of French bread or baguette, cut in
half horizontally, until the top is bubbling and the edges of the bread are
crisp. Amazing ! On that note, I made garlic knots for the first time a few
days ago. They turned out very soft and bursting with lots of garlic flavor.
Yum!

Subject: [blindcooks] GARLIC BREAD SPREAD T&T
So I new I could come up with something like this myself I just needed to try
someone else's recipe once before trying to make my own. This recipe was shared
on another list and it turned out really good. My wife said It had just the
right amount of garlic. I think it could use a bit more but I love garlic. Next
time I think I would try this with minced garlic.
GARLIC BREAD SPREAD
1/4 c. each butter and Parmesan cheese (dry)
1 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. garlic powder
Mix all ingredients. Spread on French bread slices and broil until brown.
