Wow, John! Doesn't sound like something to laugh about, but so glad
you and the house were OK.
My ex-husband used to put fatty meats on the grill over a not lit
burner and use an adjacent burner for the fire. This was his gas
grill, and I don't know if your smoker has this kind of option.
The subject line reminded me of the elephant jokes that were all the
rage in the sixties.
Why do ducks have flat feet?
From stamping out forest fires.
Why do elephants have flat feet?
From stamping out burning ducks.
Maybe what you needed to have handy was an elephant.
