Getting started with a quick quest for food that leaves Keith lacking, the
other hosts feast on a breakfast of snack food.
Meet the Hosts. To try and tame the show length, we forego the usual Dumb News.
Keith remembers another of the forgotten updates from the last time we were all
together. Magical vegetables that turn into flowers. Chris shares about a fire
alarm in the man cave, and Nathan is a cool breeze, in the newly installed air
conditioner that interrupted his stay in our previous show
Main Topic. We actually ramble on with momentum from last week where we
presented the radio production of, One Foot in Heaven. First, Keith makes a
correction, that the show actually had been made as a movie, and not just a
theatrical play. It was a show about the behind the scenes life as a preacher,
and since Nathan is both a preacher's kid, and a preacher, he shares how things
are still very similar.
Bonus Topic. We look at Matthew 5:13-20, a part of the sermon on the mount.
Jesus taught that believers are salt, light, and need to affect the world
around them by teaching the truth.
Salt.
Flavors
Tenderizes
Preserves
Can lose its flavor, being trampled by men.
Light.
A small flame impacts a dark world in big ways.
Most affected when in prominent position
Can still impact in low places.
Teaching Truth.
The law is still valid, but fulfilled by Jesus.
Efforts of perfection fall short, even of top religious leaders.
Grace and forgiveness of Jesus is the key.
Conclusion.
Jesus has the power to:
Restores salt to flavor.
Keeps light going.
Spreads the truth of grace , to transform the unbeliever.
