Hello Everyone,, If there's someone who can tell me how to prevent some anomalies from getting in to streaming audio, and how to remove them if recording the stream should they occur since some of you use Sound Forge and Shoutcast perhaps you can give me some suggestions as I may be streaming or assist with streaming some events next year. The first problem is with stuttering. I recently recorded several audio streams and observed some intermittent stuttering. I'll attempt to reproduce textually what I'm hearing when I play these recordings back. Since I wanted to determine if these-these problems were on my-my-my machine I made several test recordings which all came out fine. But when I recorded the streams I first heard the stut-stuttering. The other noise phenomenon I heard was a rhythmic kind of hissing sound kind of like: lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal. In some of the audio files I also heard what can best be described as a pulsading popping sound kind, of, like, a, heart, beating. In one case Icecast was used to broadcast the audio. In another instance Shoutcast was used. Although I don't believe the cause of these problems resides on our computers, though I could be wrong, I'm curious to know why the stuttering and nenautinous noise occurred, how best to prevent it, and how to correct/remove it should it occur when I record these streams. I'm not sure if if noise filtering is covered in various streaming audio Tutorials. Since some of you use Shoutcast Software is their noise filtering that needs to be enabled to prevent unwanted noise, and are there buffer settings to adjust to prevent listeners from hearing that stuttering? I recently upgraded to Sound Forge Audio Studio 8 and would like to know which SF tools can be used to correct or remove these problems. I see that there's a, "Stutter" option in the, "Effects" Menu. Can this be used to remove unwanted stuttering as well as causing it? Since I mentioned Audio Studio 8 are there any streaming audio tutorials, and documentation that discuss these problems and how best to remedy them with various digital-audio production software packages? Your assistance with these issues will be helpful and will give me a heads-up for when I record more of these streams, or do streaming myself. Thanks again for your help and a great list.
