I use and love studio recorder from APH.org ... and that's basically all
anyone could ever need for editing!  Please check out the beta at
APH.org/tech.  There aren't any effects in SR though (all though I think
they're working on support for DirectX effects plugins), so I'd go ahead and
download at least the demo of Goldwave for things like reverb and delay.
