I interpret it as that almost all Apple software is free of copyright (I didn't say public domain) because it requires either direct or indirect access to Apple ROMs. Even with an emulator, the ROMs are still required in some form. I think that all software which requires the Echo would be free of copyright for the same reason, but especially since as far as I know there is no way to emulate an Echo as part of an Apple. In fact, Textalker will sometimes lock up A2.
