Marsha, that is a different technology. What some nasty retailers use is called
"cell phone jammers". They create a "man in the middle" scenario where they
intercept the RF signal between your cell and the cell tower. Technically cell
phone jammers are illegal, as per the FCC, however when you're the worlds
largest retailer , you are above the law. Ostensibily, the jamming is believed
to keep shoppers from comparing the price of their good to other retailers in
real time while at the store but I imagine there may beother issues as well.

I think Wal-Mart might use tis technology to keep employees from using their
cell phones. As a consumer, you cannot use a cell phone in much of the store.
