Please look at the following from my supplemental police report:
“On September 11, 2015 F/Lieutenant Boucher received a phone call from Dan
Morgan (517) 285-2010 indicating that about 1,000 persons, most with a
disability, would be in attendance. Morgan indicated he had spoken with a
disgruntled person who planned on protesting at the event. Morgan indicated
the person did not state the protest was violent; however, had been promoting
this activity on social media. “
Now, Brody Boucher of the MSP Capitol Police kknows about our constitutional
rights. Yet he later planned to deny anyone with signs or leaflets, etc. from
this public event on the Capitol Lawn because of our message.
He Boucher is a state actor and he deliberately violated our First Amendment
Rights and our rights under the ADA.
Moreover, Dan Morgan is the Americans with Disabilities Act coordinator for the
Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget, and thus a state actor
as well. He made this call because several of us who were detained caused major
national leaders to withdraw in protest for the sponsership of Peckham and
MARO, (with Peckham being investigated for fraud amonst other things) which is
part of the public record in the minutes, and cart and recordings of the
Statewide Independent living Council’s meeting of September 11, 2015 held in a
Peckham owned building. And all the members of the SILC are state actors.
This is all about politics and politically protected speech rights that were
violated on September 17 at our very own ADA Celebration, free and open to the
public, including us. The acts of the Capitol Police and other state actors
were acts of retaliation for our individual and collective whistle blowing.
Now, the final note here is that Morgan and Boucher clearly noted our protest
was to be non-violent. It says it all.
