Thanks. I don't even know who that is.

George H. Smith “It is my firm conviction that man has nothing to gain,
emotionally or otherwise, by adhering to a falsehood, regardless of how
comfortable or sacred that falsehood may appear. Anyone who claims, on the one
hand, that he is concerned with human welfare, and who demands, on the other
hand, that man must suspend or renounce the use of his reason, is contradicting
himself. There can be no knowledge of what is good for man apart from knowledge
of reality and human nature, and there is no manner in which this knowledge can
be acquired except through reason. To advocate irrationality is to advocate
that which is destructive to human life.” ― George H. Smith, Atheism: The Case

understand that very complicated economic article by Jack Rasmus which I
posted yesterday, with little success. But I did understand Wolff who said
that if Biden doesn't do something for working people like FDR did when he
was elected, there'll be no economic recovery and we'll most likely have a
Fascist elected in response in 2024. Well, he didn't say that exactly about
2024, but that's what he was intimating. Biden's secretary of state is
supporting Juan Guido in Venezuela, saying he is the lawful president of the
country. Biden is not abolishing student loans, just reducing some of them
slightly. I heard a detailed review of all these presidential edicts that
are supposed to be so wonderful. Guess what? They're not. Most of it is just
as awful as I thought it would be. And why are all these people saying that
this is our great opportunity to move Biden to the left? He was elected
without giving an inch to the left wing of the Democratic Party. Why do they
think that now, suddenly, they have power?

Agreed. These "cookie cutter" speeches are part of all elections.
They are presented for future generations, like FDR's Fireside chats.
It's rare that we are presented a speech that stands head and shoulders
above us all. The few clips I listened to were mediocre at best. I even
tried listening to the reading of the "official poem" by the youngest poet
ever to present at an inauguration. I got about halfway through it. It's
time we all began to write our elected officials and tell them that now that
all the Pomp and Ceremonies are done and done, it is time for action. And
we need to spell out the sorts of actions we mean. Otherwise we are staring
at another block of years that merely mimick the Clinton and Obama years.
This election serves as a warning. If our American Corporate
Empire(ACE) does not open its purse strings and provide some real gains for
the Working Class, the next presidential election might well be our last.

I haven't watched the ceremony. I never do, nor do I watch
presidential debates. It's all theater and pageantry as far as I'm
concerned, just propaganda to keep the masses in line. But one of my
Washington Post headlines tells me that in his speech, Biden pleads for
national unity.
Here
we go again. Is he out of his mind? All that talk about unity and
bipartisanship by Obama helped get us here. It would be nice if
these politicians would be honest for a change and call out the
people who are causing conflict. I don't want to see new terrorism
laws as Biden has already promised, but it would have been nice if
they'd used the laws and procedures that already exist against white
people for a change. If I were younger, perhaps I would be as
optimistic as some of those young leftists who keep writing about
how now we have an opportunity to move Biden to the left.
