Mary, yes the money is correct but I realized that after I sent the message we
were talking about assisted living and my father was in a full nursing dementia
(locked) unit with a 24/7 personal nurse which needed due to his problems with
medicine compliance. I used up my savings from my previous employers for it but
in reality it was only a drop in the bucket as to what my mother's health care
costs were in the last decade of her life. I can tell you some horror stories
there and I still have a stack of bills on my desk that is close to 7 figures.

Frank, Could what you wrote be correct? That would mean you paid $92,000 a
year for your father's care in assisted living. Even if it were full nursing
care that would be terribly expensive. How could anyone afford to be there?

Marsha, when my late father was in assisted living for the last few years it
cost $500 per day of which the VA paid half and I paid half.
