It was in a quote in a serious statement. But the question remains, what is
the definition?

"Miriam Vieni" <miriamvieni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> writes:

There is a new word. I thought that only young people on the left were
using it, but I just read something in which a member of the Trump
administration, used it. So I'm looking for a good definition. The word is
"woke".

From https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/woke
"2. (chiefly African-American Vernacular, slang) Alert, aware of what is
going on, or well-informed, especially in racial and other social justice
issues."

If a Trumper used it, they were probably sneering and trying to belittle the
object of their statement.  It's sort of like how reactionaries --
especially on the net -- use "social justice warrior" as a slur.
