Exactly right. It's no accident that we are divided and re-divided.
We are doing the policing of one another. My grandpa Ludwig was a
lifelong Republican. He fancied himself to be quite a clever "horse
trader". But his nursery sat on an acre and a quarter, with out
buildings made from old railroad car lumber, the barn and pumphouse
and chicken house and pig pen all still were marked with the railroads
that stopped for repairs in Spokane. Grandpa loved to talk about how
he spoke with this rich fellow, or that
successful businessman at the Lodge. Grandpa belonged to the Eagles
and the Masons and the Grange, and to hear him tell it, all these
important(wealthy)men sought out grandpa's sage advice. So many hard
working men like my grandpa bought the propaganda fed to them by the
Ruling Class. Until enough of us change our value system, we will be
repeating the same mistakes over and over.

I understand that the American Class System is far more fragmented than
there is space on this list to detail.
So I tend to over simplify and lump. Of course the
Ruling Class is comprised of many special interests, jockeying for control.
Likewise, a layer of high earning professionals, called the Upper Class work
tirelessly on behalf of one faction or another of the Ruling Class. Beneath
them are their faithful supporters, often call upper middle class. They are
mostly well paid for their talents.
Their talent is protecting and expanding the wealth of their corporate
bosses.
What we consider to be the Middle Class is a wide collection of private,
public and self employed people.
All of these divisions struggle to distance themselves from the lowly
working class, rather than joining together to change this Caste System and
replace it with a System that does not enslave the Masses in order to
increase the wealth and possessions of a few.
As it turns out, Capitalism and its ugly offspring, Corporate Capitalism are
morphing into a sophisticated form of bondage. The old Tennessee Ernie Ford
tune, I owe my Soul to the company store, couldn't be more appropriate than
today.
There are fairer Systems which could afford a larger portion of a nation's
people a higher standard of living. Capitalism worked well for those
already in power, but not so well for the rest of us.
But as long as we allow ourselves to be divided, our future will continue to
be held by a very few.
So, despite running the risk of offending a few, I will continue to lump
Americans into two Classes, the Ruling Class, and the rest of us.
If the "rest of us" could find common ground, we could be done with the
current ruling class. But that will not happen in my children's lifetimes
because too many have sold out their humanity for a few pieces of gold.

Basically, I agree. But I think that you are repeating some overstated
distorted information. There has been an upper middle class who are
not the ruling oligarchy, but who are certainly not the over worked,
under paid working class. They live in the suburbs and until very
recently, they worked reasonable hours, had secure incomes, and lived
comfortable lives with a few luxuries thrown in. Things are changing
and I don't know that their lives will continue. But they are the
people who believed in the American Dream because it worked for them.
I've known a lot of these folks because they live on Long Island.
They or their parents, moved here from New York City.
They switched party affiliations from Democratic to Republican after
they got here. They watch a lot of TV and they voted for Trump. But
they also tend to vote Republican in other presidential elections. I'm
not talking about the ultra wealthy. It's a mistake to make these
sweeping generalizations because they're not accurate representations of
the truth.
They are the talking points of the socialist parties which are as
inaccurate as the talking points of the other political parties. It's
all advertising.

Just to put a fine point on it, we talk alot about our democracy, when
we are actually neither a democracy nor a Republic. The United States
of America is run by a Corporate Capitalistic Oligarch.
It is a nation of, by and for the Privileged few. Those few who do
benefit, do so through the labor of an underpaid Working Class.
Control over this vast number of underpaid, overworked people is done
with a mixture of misleading promises, confusion and bold lies.

be done about it. It just isn't available. I'm not even bothering to
post this to the Victor Stream list because the last time Sputnik
was mentioned, there were a whole lot of responses about how
everything on it is Russian propaganda. So I'm just venting my
frustration here. I didn't listen every day, and I only listened to
the segments in which I was interested. But I resent that some
entity somewhere is making decisions about what I may hear.
