Roger,
Thanks for the heads up.  I'll plan to listen to the response, even if
I tire of the actual "debate".  I do plan to listen to the opening,
just to see if the president's mike  will be turned off when he begins
interrupting.  But as for learning anything new, even the president
cannot fill in the details of any of his grand programs he is
promising Americans.
But we only have ourselves to blame for a president who makes hollow
promises.  We've allowed years of corporate liars to flood our brains
with lies and false promises.  We need a different political system.
But in order to achieve that, we need a different Ruling Class.  To
"educate" Americans, we need to begin altering how we dispense
information.  Changes in regulations for advertising might be a good
start.  As an example, for years tobacco companies were allowed to lie
to the public, and never were charged with the millions of deaths
caused from people assuming the tobacco industry would not lie about
the safety of their poison.  Even after the networks banned tobacco
ads, Tobacco Shills stood on street corners handing out "sample"
ppacks of cigarettes...five to a pack.
But then, "our" government is still punishing many Americans for the
mistake of being the descendants of American Slaves.
We have become used to being ruled by negative reinforcements.  Divide
and conquer still works.  Who was that funny looking fellow with the
funny little moustache who believed that a big lie was more believable
than many little lies?
Anyway, we need to get going on how to convince Americans that there
are better methods for governing 300 million people.
