Hi Roger,
I liked this one for the most part. Slowly but surely, I am beginning to
believe that capitalism needs to be replaced. But I'm a little queasy about
the possibility of the US not entering World War II. Surely, those who opposed
us entering the war should not have been persecuted or prosecuted. But, if we
hadn't entered the war, might the world have been worse off? I'm assuming that
if the US stayed out, the german/Japan access would have won. The way I see it,
that would have meant more persecution of minorities, less freedom of choice,
etc. While the US government has more than its share of faults, I'd rather live
under the US government than under that of Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan.
I know that the US could have done a lot more to help prevent World War II such
as seeing to it that the Versai Treaty that ended World War I would not force
the german economy into the ground.
