I listened to John Pilger this morning on last night's episode of Flashpoints.
He is one of the smartest, most objective journalists around. One of the things
he mentioned is that Democrats seem to be hoping that if Trump were impeached,
Hillary would somehow become President. I can't imagine how that could happen,
given our constitution. But then, much of our constitution has been ignored in
the past several years. At any rate, would you really want Hillary to be
President? Hillary, who said, just before the US attack on the Syrian airfield,
that she thought the US should be taking out all Syrian airfields? And in case
you have been depending solely on the media for information about this latest
chemical attack in Syria, you might take a look at some alternative
information on the web and on the podcasts, or the Pacifica network. Look at
Consortium News, for example. The New York Times no longer lists the 2013
chemical attack in Syria at all. That is the attack that everyone attributed
to the Syrian government and which was proven to be the responsibility of all
those Jihadi groups that the US has been supporting. They don't list it because
it is now quietly accepted that Syria didn't do it. Also, Syria, in 2014, got
rid of all of their chemical weapons under US supervision. So this latest
attack? There is some very interesting information floating around about who
was responsible, and it wasn't the Syrian government. Hillary Clinton, who has
always represented the war industry, the Neo Cons and the Neo Liberals, is now
back in the news, cheering on Trump's attack. We're all so horrified by Trump
and the incredibly unethical Republicans, that we forget how the Democrats have
been betraying us for years. Last night, I heard Robert Scheer's interview with
Bill Blum, who is a judge. By the way, Bill Blum is not the same person as
William Blum whose report I periodically receive and post to the list. Bill
Blum was a judge and now teaches law. Do you know who changed the immigration
law to make it possible for Trump to do what he's doing now? Bill Clinton did
it in 1996, I think that's the year. Blum said that before Clinton changed the
law, everyone had a deportation hearing and approximately 64,000 people were
deported annually. The law changed. People were then, "removed", rather than
deported. The law about hearings changed. The first year after the change, the
number of people deported, jumped to 167 and we know what happened after that.
It kept rising expodentially.

hysteria, Trump presidency
Hi Roger and all,
It is interesting to contemplate the impeachment of Trump and possible removal
from office. Two things here.
1. Given the Republican congress and recent actions, I doubt this can happen in
the next two years.
2. And, if it does, be careful of what you wish for as Mike Pense will take
over the White House. Yes, he seems to be a more reasonable sort than the
Trumpster, but I have trouble trusting a religious zealot like Pense. Would he
move us in the direction of evangelical Christian theocracy?
pS.
Here's a sure fire way to prove that God does not exist. Just say: "God, if you
exist strike me dead in ten seconds! I've done this a number of times and I'm
still here.
