I don't agree with you. The people who voted for Trump, did so because they
were upset with business as usual. Many of them had voted for Obama because
he promised hope and change. But he didn't change much at all. He put all of
Clinton's people, along with Robert Gates and John Brennan (2 Republicans),
in powerful positions and for most people, nothing got better. His
Affordable Care Act made slight improvements, but the premiums and copays
have been rising, as have the deductibles. That's why so many people voted
for Bernie Sanders. Had the leadership of the Democratic Party not rigged
things, he would have won the primary. There is no one whom I know, who is
satisfied with their medical care or how their insurance works. Huge amounts
of money are going to insurance companies and their CEO's which could be
used for medical care. If candidates explain that, people will understand.

Interesting article here.
I actually agree with the NYT that if the Democrat nominee is too far to the
left, that will help Trump win given the quirks of the electoral college. I
love Warren and am proud to call her my senator; But if she insts upon
taking away the private health insurance of millions of Americans, she'll
have a tough time winning the general election in 2020. IF I were Warren,
and I won the nomination, I'd admit that while I believe in Medicare for
all, I don't expect to get it passed in Congress at this time and will be
pushing for the intrim step of a public option. Hopefully, this will
eventually lead to a single payer plan. I also believe that she can keep
pushing for her wealth tax which is very popular now.
I took a look at warren's numbers on medicare for all and they are extremely
optimistic. If she does get nominated, she should pick Mayor Pete as her VP.
If Pete wins, he should choose Warren as his VP. IF Biden is nominated, then
we'll be stuck with four more years of Trump as the same voters who stayed
home for HRC will stay home for Biden.
