I had fun watching the Mets, who beat my Dodgers, get beat. No more baseball
until we go back on daylight time. I'll have to resort to talking books and
Politics.

Well now, Marsha, you know the old saying, All Work and No Play Makes Jack a
Dull Boy. That goes for Marsha, too. And for Carl. Saturday evening I
watched the Washington Huskies football game, and yesterday I frittered away
the afternoon taking in the Seattle Sea Hawks. Now that my afternoon walks
have become shorter, due mostly to arthritic bones, and my hobby of firing off
angry letters and emails to "important" people, who don't give a Damn, and my
other favorite hobby has been to take a brush ax and hack back the invading
forest, I am slowly resolving myself to the fact that I must find enjoyment in
the activities of others. Cathy and I gobble up tons of Talking Books(even
though she's not an eligible patron), and I enjoy getting all lathered up over
the many posts on this List. During the long warm summer days I do take an
interest in baseball, but after the Cubs were dumped out of the running I
didn't have any emotional stake in either New York or Kansas City(Sorry!).

But I do like hard fought competition. Even though I oppose the taking over of
sports by the Corporate Empire, for their profit instead of our pleasure, even
so, I do indulge. I guess I do the same thing in my politics. Supporting
Bernie Sanders for president is sort of like saying, "My Seattle Sea Hawks".
They're not my team any more than Bernie is my candidate. But I didn't make up
the rules and lay out the playing field. If I want to be involved in Life,
then at some level I will need to play by the established rules. Even as I try
to help change them. And now that I think of it, maybe that's where most of my
"fun" comes from,--jabbing the Two-Headed Monster.

Hi
We won the World Series last night in five games!..I know it’s not
important in the world’s scheme of things but it was a brief break into fun.
I don’t have much fun in life so this was nice.
