Absolutely right on. If you heard Democracy Now yesterday, Robert K Johnson,
(is that his name?), was explaining that the real issue is that Trump has
had financial entanglements with Russian oligarches as well as criminals
here, for many many years, and he owes Russian criminals a great deal of
money. He said that this is one of the reasons that Trump won't show the
public his tax returns. If he's financially indebted, Trump is not going to
act in anybody's best interests, except his own.

Solomon does make good points here. I am especially annoyed by Clinton
supporters that claim she would have won if Russia had not interfered in our
royally screwed up election process. But I also believe we need to
investigate possible connections between Putin and members of the Trump
Administration. I agree with Solomon and Trump that it would be better for
us if we had better relations with Russia. But let's not kid ourselves.
Putin is a former KGB strong man famous for making enemies disappear in
nepharious ways that harken back to the Soviet Union. I strongly disagreed
with Trump when he claimed that Putin is a "good leader" during the
campaign. My biggest concern regarding Russia is that Trump has some sort of
financial ties to Putin that cause him to treat him better than he gets
treated by any other Republicans or Democrats currently in power.
I believe that Trump refuses to release his tax returns because he has
something to hide. That may very well be financial ties to Russia that could
compromise his ability to act in the interests of the United States. If I
were conducting the investigation, I'd concentrate far more on financial
issues than who said what to Russian officials.
