When JAWS dies on me I just restart the computer. I am using Windows 7
and I know that if I press the Windows key to go to the start menu and
then arrow right twice and then arrow down for times I can press enter
to restart the computer. JAWS always comes back. Since I am only
counting, though, I may miss my place now and then. So frequently I have
to do this several times to get it to restart.

Yes, knowing my limitations plus those of Jaws, I've learned to cut my losses and run. The
other day, I wailed to the Jaws list, "I'd sell my soul for a key combination that would

18 after I got it. I remember doing so. But neither my hot keys, nor anyone's suggestions
about this special Jaws 18 problem had been working for me. Among the responses I got was a
set of directions to set up the hot key. I thought, "well, maybe I'll look to just check
that it's still there". So I followed the directions and discovered that no, it wasn't
there. So I set it up with these new directions and we'll see if, next time Jaws dies and
doesn't return on its own, my hot keys will work.

Worse than links that go nowhere are the links that take my screen reader to a
place of confusion. Poor old Jaws! Around and around we go, and where we end
up only the Great Unknown knows. I follow logic.
Nope. I try outguessing the keen mind that designed the site. Nope.
Finally Jaws, after circling for the twentieth time, runs into something that says,
"Double Click". Now I'm not the swiftest Dodo in the flock, but I have never
figured out how to get Jaws to Double Click. I know that I'm missing some good stuff,
but anymore I just delete the post, rather than wind up gnarly and bitchy and sending out
grumbles...like this one.
Other than that, it's a great day here on the Great Olympic Peninsula.
So dry that I've not seen a single Giant Olympic Slug for weeks.
