down our words and put them in His mouth, and declare Him the only

Perhaps in your religion's hereafter people can live separate but

I agree completely here with your assessment of powerful men behaving
badly.
Now, let's consider what happens when women gain power. One might like to
think that women would be more compassionate, more reasonable, more likely
to consider how their actions might impact upon others. Since women have
been put down throughout history, might they avoide the same behavior when
in positions of power?
I'm afraid that the answer is probably no. When women gain power, they tend
toward the same kinds of behavior that we criticize in powerful men. They
have the same capacity to ill-treat those beneath them, they have the
capacity to look the other way at injustice within their organizations,
etc.
Now, let's take a look at a couple of women who have had real power. Both
Margaret Thatcher and Hillary Clinton were war hawks and exhibited a lot of
the same kind of behavior we see in many male world leaders.
One area that may be different is that I have not seen much evidence of men
being sexually harassed by women. No doubt about it, the propensity of
power
to corrupt is not limited to men.

I have to respond that in all of the dominant religions, Christianity,
Judaism, and Islam, there are stories about men dominating women. Muslims
practice marriages in which one man has several wives. This is also true of
the Mormons. I don't know about other religions, but I do know about men.
Men glory in power, war, domination, and having sexual power over women is
one of their most favorite ways of feeling powerful. They use rape as a
means of demeaning women, satisfying their own sexual apetites, and shaming
the men who are their enemies. FDR and John F. Kennedy also had many extra
marital relationships. It's something that powerful men do. They do it in
the Middle East, in Asia, in Africa, and in the Americas.
