The article came to me from another source this morning. I think, but am not
sure, that I read the whole article. At any rate, what it describes sounds
typical of where big business is going these days. Amazon has certainly been
at the forefront, and it gets away with how it treats employees and
contractd workers in warehouses because everyone is so enamoured of the
convenience and low prices. We do what's in our own self interest without
being concerned about what trends we may be supporting in society. And if
someone points out a negative, we rationalize it away.

Subject: [blind-democracy] The Evil of Amazon

Hi all,

Check out the link below my name to a very long New York Times article. This
one should be required reading for all high school graduates. WE all new
that todays' corporations engage in despicable behavior, but it looks like
Amazon gets the booby prize for the evilest of the evil. Id' say this is the
extreme version of treating human beings as nothing more than another
natural resource to be used up for purely selfish gain.

Warning! You may need a puke bag to get all the way through this one.
