Actually, my original point about disabled people was that the platform
talks about non discrimination in housing and employment regardless of race,
eethnicity, religion or sexual orientation so I thought it would have been
appropriate to include disability in the list. I don't expect social
inclusion to be legislated, but non discrimination, if it's there for other
groups, should be there for disabled people as well. And it was omitted
because in the eyes of the people who wrote that platform, we don't exist.
That's where social inclusion comes in.

Miriam, I agree that when you try to create a platform to appeal to the
people it ends up like trying to heard cats and a people's platform means
many different things to many different people. As to your other point about
social inclusion that's a tough one. As the constitution provides for the
general welfare of the populous and life liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. However it doesn't provide for happiness itself. To that I hope
that what Bob said about us being part of the "for all" rings true.

I think that the platform includes a wish list, contributed by a lot of
people, or gathered to satisfy a lot of people, but not well thought out or
organized. I'd like a basic income provided for everyone. There've been a
lot of articles about that lately. But no, unless the needs of disabled
people are mentioned, I think that we can be easily overlooked. One of our
problems, certainly for blind people, is that of social inclusion.

While it might have more specifically mentioned persons with disabilities
in a number of places, this platform does advocate jobs for all, education
for all and healthcare for all. Doesn't that include persons with
disabilities? I do like a lot of what is in the platform. But I believe
that a 100 percent tax on income above $300,000.00 is a bit much. IT might
make more sense to reduce that rate to 60 percent and save that 100 percent
rate for incomes above, let's say $600,000.00.
