Roger,

Some people may have difficulty doing some of the things and need help. They
will probably request you to help because you are the administrator and
because you know what you're doing. Sometimes, some of us aren't able to
follow the directions, even though you explain them and they seem obvious to
you.

You can manage your subscription on the same web page that you subscribed
on. If I recall correctly there is a combo box an the first choice is to
subscribe. If you move down on that combo box you should see other choices.

Hello Miriam, and all,

I am inclined to agree with you and my experience on the list has
been pretty much the same as you have mentioned. It is truly
refreshing when we all can simply communicate out of common courtesy
and not have to be constrained with lots of rules. I am comfortable
with the list being self-moderated. This of course does not answer
the concerns which may arise when folks want to go no mail or want a
digest delivery rather than every message as it is received, but I
suspect we can deal with that when and if it happens..

Thanks Miriam and all!

Charlie,

To my knowledge, we don't have a moderator. I think that maybe Roger
thinks that he is one by default because he got the list going.
However, he made a statement to the effect that he wasn't going to control
the discussion.

My take on this group is that we are self moderating. I would like us
to treat each other with respect and refrain from personal attacks.
Past experience tells me that this hasn't always been the case, but we
keep trying. As for profanity, occasional profanity doesn't bother me.
Sometimes, I think it's even appropriate. But profanity used in anger
in attacks on others seems wrong to me. Again, that rule has not
always been followed, but I assume we'll keep trying with that, also.

Miriam

Hi Blind Democracy listers,

First I want to congratulate those who got this list
going again. Second, I am curious as to what the rules of operations
on this list are? I used to be the moderator on the old list and my
two rules were no personal attacks and no inappropriate profanity.
Does this list have a moderator and/or any rules for participants?
No, I am not interested in the task, and I am not sure we really need
a moderator, but I'd be interested in what folks think.
